Foreign Students to Enjoy Insurance Coverage in China

According to this article for the next five years, the ministry will help these students apply for health, accident, hospitalization and medical insurance, with total coverage of more than 60,000 yuan (US $7,229), according to the Ministry of Education and Ping An insurance (Group) Company. China did not originally have insurance for foreign students but after the trouble with SARS, the ministry and insurance company have realized how important foreign students are.
In Japan, if you go to travel out side of the country, travel accident insurance is required for everyone because most countries’ medical fees are expensive. In my case when I came to the US this time, I paid (US $1,000) for accident insurance. This insurance cover one year and includes death from injury, residual disability, medical and rescue expenses, death from disease, liability, stolen baggage , hospital benefit, baggage delay expenses, and flight delay expenses. Death from injury, or residual disability can pay $10,000, medical and rescue expenses is $10,000, death from disease is $10,000, liability is $100,000, baggage is $500, baggage delay expenses is $100, and flight delay expenses is $200.
Foreign students are getting important for the Chinese economically and politically. If the Chinese government takes better of care foreigners, the number of students and workers will increase, which means the Chinese government will get more tax from them. A big problem for China is they don’t seem to care very much about foreigners. If China does something for foreigners, they will earn some benefits, like having factories built in China.
